At the centre of Ballymagarvey village and flanked by a courtyard of stone cottages and a flax mill is Ballymagarvey House, an impressive fortified country house built around 1800.

When naming the rooms, we took the opportunity to honour those who had called Ballymagarvey House their home over the last 200 years...

When you stay at Ballymagarvey for a wedding, a birthday party, family reunion or whatever the occasion may be, our house becomes your home, so you can kick back and put your feet up in the sun filled consevatory, pour yourself that much needed bloody mary from the Black Lion Pub or settle into some tea and scones around the kitchen aga. A little history
During its 210 years, Ballymagarvey House has protected its occupants through some of the most turbulent times in Ireland’s history, looked on as the Aylmer family made its Corn and Flax Mill Village a great success, nurtured growing families, watched the school children come and go at the village school and become home to a stud-farm owning family...
